Suara.com - The first day of the visit of Pope Francis in South Korea directly spawned a surprise. Instead of driving a luxury sedan like other countries, Francis chose riding Kia Soul, a small compact car shaped box that is far from luxurious.
Francis, who arrived in Seoul on Thursday (14/08/2014), was welcomed by the President of South Korea, Park Geun-hye. When leaving the airport, with still accompanied President Park on the red carpet, Francis immediately greeted by a black Kia Soul.
Before the arrival of Francis, local media reported that South Korea already crowded small car that the pope asked for him to use in his trip. Soul itself is the second smallest car produced by Kia, South Korean car manufacturer.
But for Francis, using ordinary cars like the Kia Soul in accordance with his nature. Since being elected pope in March 2013 he had refused to use luxury cars like Mercedes and BMW, which used its predecessor, and chose a blue Ford Focus as an everyday vehicle.
